It all started in 1984 with Gerrit van Heerde. Consulting, project coordination and mediation in civil engineering and construction as well as the development of trade agreements were his initial activities. Later, technical management and setting-up trade contacts were added.

2009 will be a milestone in the existence of The Future Is Now because than it'll be 25 years since the company was officially founded. Although Gerrit van Heerde died sadly early 1996, his eldest son, Han van Heerde, has taken up the reins of the business.
